Petr, my kernels all give Serial 0000000000000000 and Revision 0000.  
AFAIK the ATAG data that this info comes from is not being filled 
in.  Did you do something different in your kernel?

Triffid, are you sure your userspace is compiled as EABI?  Yours is  
exactly the symptom I see when I forget and point my EABI kernel to 
my older OABI NFSROOT.

The OABI_COMPAT kernel config option will let you run both OABI and 
EABI binaries, if you are not sure.  (Non-thumb binaries only 
though).
