I don't think it will change the TS official stance (IMO).  But 
there are already community patches available to run modern kernels 
on TS boards (I'm using 2.6.23-rc3-rt9 on a TS-7250).  

Most features work OK on the TS boards, but the SD card is a 
problem, and for the 7400, that's quite an issue.  There is a TS 
binary blob for SD card support that could be used for 2.6, but no 
one has written the wrapper.  I guess no community members want to 
spend effort to support a binary blob, and so far, no commercial TS 
customers have commissioned a 2.6 wrapper.

There is SD support in the TS-7800, but I believe TS has stated the 
issues will be the same with their NDA, so I'm expecting a binary 
blob there too.
