Hi, I want to use a web cam, as described here: http://mxhaard.free.fr/embedded.html To do so, I patched and cross compiled the kernel on Cygwin. I could finally get two files: vmlinux.bin vmlinux I transfered them to the board, and tried to load the new image file using the following commands: insmod -f /lib/modules/2.4.26-ts11/kernel/drivers/char/bootloader.o bootload -c "console=ttyAM0,115200 root=/dev/ram0" vmlinux.bin But I get an error: Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 01:00 (Please see below for the whole message body that I get after the above to commands) What is the warning that I get after loading the bootloader.o (tainted modules )? Why do I get the message: Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 01:00 Please help! Thanks, Ari ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Warning: loading /lib/modules/2.4.26-ts11/kernel/drivers/char/bootloader.o will taint the kernel: non-GPL license - Proprietary See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information about tainted modules Warning: loading /lib/modules/2.4.26-ts11/kernel/drivers/char/bootloader.o will taint the kernel: forced load Module bootloader loaded, with warnings Linux version 2.4.26-ts11 (gcc version 3.3.4) #4 Tue Aug 14 17:21:37 PDT 2007 CPU: Arm920Tid(wb) revision 0 Machine: ep9301 On node 0 totalpages: 2048 zone(0): 2048 pages. zone(1): 0 pages. zone(2): 0 pages.
