THANK YOU - this was driving me crazy for 24 hours! The problem was as Joe and Alistair described: the command prompt (getty) was using COM2, and the combination of two programs using the same command prompt was wreaking havoc on the system. Why is this not in the TS documentation? Watching the speeds/buffers is a good idea, although for now I am just using a PC and sending about 20 bytes at a time, so connection speeds and buffer overruns are not an issue. Thanks again. Yahoo!
