-march is defining the output architecture, so if it's trying to compile a file with inline ARM9 ASM functions for athlon64 it'll choke.  I'd assume that version.c probably has inline ASM and all the files before that don't.

Hi Petr;

I'm not sure what you mean by this. The gcc version.c line is being 
compiled by the athlon I'm running crossdev on, just like everything 
that compiled successfully before this line.

The second sysdeps line I don't understand. Can you explain?
