I have just spent about a week tracking a bug that caused a 'segmentation fault' error. It turned out to be caused by repeated indexing of a char string pointer. If you are using any arrays of numbers or characters in your application I would start by looking very closely at these to make absolutely sure you are not exceeding their boundaries or incorrectly indexing a pointer to these arrays.
