Kym,

I had the same problem with my TS-7260.  It turned out to be a bug in RedBoot!  I contacted TS and they confirmed the bug.  They posted a new RedBoot release on their FTP server.  Here's where I got it from:

Yes, we've been able to reproduce the problem. As a result we've released a new version of redboot that corrects this problem. You can download the new release here ftp://oz.embeddedarm.com/images/redboot/redboot-7250-1.02.bin.

They also offered to reflash it form me if I sent it back to them.  I opted to update it myself.  They gave me the following instructions:

...use mtdcopy to write the new redboot image to flash.

ftp://oz.embeddedarm.com/ts-arm-linux-cd/binaries/ts-utils/mtdcopy

e.g.

mtdcopy /path/to/redboot_image 2 0

I'd suggest contacting TS to see if they have another, more recent update to RedBoot in case any other problems have been fixed.

Good luck,

Randy

Subject: [ts-7000] Redboot, 'fis delete' won't let me delete vmlinux ??

Hi,

I have a TS7260 which I want to update the kernel in, however when I
come to deleting the kernel with the 'fis delete' command, it won't
let me. see below ..

RedBoot> fis list
Name FLASH addr Mem addr Length Entry point
(reserved) 0x60000000 0x60000000 0x01D04000 0x00000000
RedBoot 0x61D04000 0x61D04000 0x00040000 0x00000000
vmlinux 0x61D44000 0x00218000 0x000C4000 0x00218000
(bad block) 0x61D9C000 0x61D9C000 0x00004000 0xFFFFFFFF
FIS directory 0x61FFC000 0x61FFC000 0x00003000 0x00000000
RedBoot config 0x61FFF000 0x61FFF000 0x00001000 0x00000000
RedBoot> fis delete vmlinux
Sorry, 'vmlinux' is a reserved image and cannot be deleted
RedBoot>

Also, should I do a 'fis init' - I am assuming I will have to reflash
redboot - but does the FIS directory look after itself?

Cheers
Kym
