No problem.

This from Pedro Riffo: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ts-7000/message/5336
My "original verison": http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ts-7000/message/4933

You can buy a cheap USB dongle, and test that driver ALSA is working...

The second step is to patch alsa with the IS2 support for EP93xx. I used these patches:

http://svn.wantstofly.org/kernel/ep93xx-dma-m2p.diff
http://svn.wantstofly.org/kernel/ep93xx-ac97-alsa.diff

The two patches above are for the 2.6 kernel, one creates a new sound card in ALSA, the other enables DMA in the 2.6 kernel. I think you could use the first to patch the 2.4 TS kernel and the other to patch ALSA driver, but I think this will be tricky. When you are done with this one, you should modify the AC97 support for the EP93xx and write a new I2S module. I did this, I can find the patches and make them available for you.

I don't know if the DMA support in the ep93xx-dma-m2p.diff can be directly applied to the 2.4 kernel, but you could modify it...

I'm not saying it is easy, just it is theoretically possible ;-)
