A couple of questions:
Do you have a /root path? I would assume so as this is the directory
where you are normally as you login as root.
If this is the case why not create a mount point under /mnt:
mkdir /mnt/sdcard0
and mount the partition there as:
mount /dev/sdcard0/disc0/part1 /mnt/sdcard0
