I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean that you did.

However, a segfaulting program is usually obtained when you mistreat a
pointer and try to read memory that the kernel think does not belong to
you.

If hello.c is the hello.c that can be found on the TS website i dont
believe that it's a pointer fault in hello.c though.

What OS are you using and what TS-board do you have?
Please run "gcc -v" and provide me with the output as well as the
content of YOUR hello.c (attach the file or cut'n paste it)
