This has now been implemented on NetBSD too (thanks to development 
work funded by William).  On NetBSD though I coded it so it doesn't 
need a supporting kernel module.  Kernel requirements are just 
read/write access to /dev/mem and /dev/kmem and the 11kbyte "bootload" 
program below.
