Try setting your /etc/network/interfaces as shown
below and then run /etc/init.d/networking restart:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.50
netmask 255.255.255.0
# DHCP for wireless
auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wireless_mode Managed
wireless_essid yourSSID
