Ok, so if we want Analog Outputs on a daughter board, that is doable now! Next it will be interesting what you can give us for a default daughter board that we can add options to. But, I may be losing my counter inputs! I guess you guys can just not be all thing to all people, but you are getting close. Don.

Peter, this idea was the winner. :-) The TS-7400 now by default has a
simple 8-bit multiplexed bus that can be used on some of the DIO lines.
There is a 8-bit address register and 3 programmable polarity strobes
signals (ALE, RD, WR). You can use the remaining DIO's either as
predecoded chip-selects, address bits 8 and higher, or as standard
GPIO unrelated to the general purpose bus... We made sure the timing
was such that the multiplexed bus could be turned into an
ISA/unmultiplexed style bus with the simple addition of an external
(~$0.35) 74HC373 8-bit latch. This bus can actually be made to run
faster than our PC104 bus's and acheive data rates greater than 10
megabytes/sec!

Thanks for the great idea!
