Hmmm.  Interesting.  I think that any crosstools assume you will copy
over the libs you need from the toolchain to your new, empty file
system, and then build busybox to create a usable root fs.

I guess that you just confirmed that if you mix crosstools and libs,
you will have problems.  Sorry it took a week of your time though; I
know that can be frustrating.

If you have the desire, try the development system I just posted... 
That builds the entire system for you using a single set of crosstools.
