Depending on the PC Card type you can use GPRS or EDGE. I have a
TS7250 with a USB interface tied to a GSM cell phone with GPRS data
enabled.
Once the system boots, the phone automatically registers then I call a
ppp script to setup the connection, then I turn up DHCP to put IP to
the local Eth0. I NAT on the TS7250 which allows multiple computers
to use the connection.
Cingular generally does not allow network orient connections. But you
can issue connections from the TS7250 to a server on the NET. There is
software that can keep track of the CIngular IP as it changes.
