It depends on the model, but from $150. Look on the
www.embeddedarm.com website. They'll ship worldwide. If you can
afford the extra ($200+), go for the TS-7300 as you could add any old
VGA monitor to it for album art display etc...

Technologic Systems publish all the development system files on their
ftp site, and I would therefore recommend spending extra on the card
and save on the development system.

Finally, when ordering the board make sure to specify all the options
you might need (Real Time Clock, RS485, A/D, etc) as some of the
options require a different programming for the CPLD glue logic which
is not possible (easily) to change as an end user.

I've connected a USB Audio device (looks like a thumb drive) and have
played 'audio'. I've not tried playing MP3s, but I know Jesse Off at
Technologic Systems has played MP3s via the TS-7xxx boards.

For a more efficient system it might be worth trying to add one of
the single chip MP3 decoder ICs to drop the loading on the main
processor. Also Jesse Off has just published an FPGA template for the
TS-7300 on the opencores.org site, and it might be possible to
generate the audio output via the FPGA.

The header on the main board assumes you have an LCD module with a
built in controller such as the HD44780? It provides a 4/8bit bus and
control signels. Since I got my TS-7300 I've not considered adding a
small display...

I know there are lots of people more proficient at Linux programming
thatn myself, and have always found them willing to help and provide
pointers when people get stuck. Check out the links section on the
group page, and if you need specific links juet post to the group.
