If you have network connection then use NTP and use correction parameter calculated by it to keep system stable over disconnections. It should provide you a proper correction factor provided that environment on board (temperature, mainly) keeps stable. In linux 2.6 it is easier to have different real-time clock drivers, thus it should be easy to provide one based on that 983.04 kHz timer and Jesse's routines. Yahoo!
