I will be doing this port eventually with what free time I can
scrounge up since I enjoy working on NetBSD. Most of the ep93xx
stuff is already in current NetBSD and the latest 3.0 release (and
has been for around 18 months) so its just a matter of writing a
simple bootstrap and drivers for SD, 2nd ethernet, FPGA, and COM
ports.

The SD drivers will have to be made binary-only since the SD card
association won't allow open-source drivers, but since NetBSD is not
GPL there is no problem there. On Linux, there is a
convoluted "initrd" to load the SD driver modules post-bootup that
won't be necessary on NetBSD (and thus save some time on bootup and
in design effort)
