Jesse, Eddie,
I'm interested in using the 7260 in a battery powered environment that
is recharged by a large solar power array. The system, like many
others in the area, is wired to 24VDC. The batteries normally output
23-28VDC . Given these supply voltages, I think that I would need to
use a secondary power supply such as the one in the TS-ENC720
enclosure to pre-condition the input voltage.
1. What is the acceptable input range for the onboard power converter
of the TS7260? Jesse recently indicated that it was 4.5-23VDC whereas
the web page for the TS7260 states that it's 4.5-20VDC.
2. When placed in a TS-ENC720 enclosure, does the TS7260 use its
onboard power supply, the enclosure's supply, or both?
3. Can you comment on the efficiency loss incurred when using the
TS-ENC720 power supply to feed the TS7260 power circuit? The
TS-ENC720's output is 5VDC which I'm guessing is one of the more
efficient input voltages supported by the TS7260's power switching
circuit.
