Has anyone done any work for getting LIRC (http://www.lirc.org)
working with a TS7xx0?

I think it should be possible to hook up a vishay TSOP 1738
(http://www.vishay.com/docs/tsop17.pdf or better yet one of the
miniature version - TSOP38xx I think) directly to a DIO pin and
write a kernel module to interface with lircd, giving IR control for
the TS7xx0....

I think this would be fun to do, but my knowledge of kernel module
writing is minimal, to say the least. Has anyone implemented a very
simple interrupt driven module that they would care to share to use
as a starting point? The LIRC source is pretty opaque to me and not
very well documented (although it works well...)
