I have done the exact same thing, but with a different
webcam (and a different driver of course). I used a
logitech Quickcam Zoom that needed the PWC driver
loaded. Here are the steps I made to make it all work
:
First, you must enable v4l in the TS-Linux
distribution. Call "make menuconfig" in the folder in
which you have extracted the kernel sources.
Second, you must add your driver into the linux build
tree either as a module or directly as part of the
linux kernel. I cannot really help you more with this
steps since the PWC driver was already included in the
distribution.
Third, rebuild the kernel and, using tftp, transfer
your new kernel image to the TS-72xx.
Finally, boot the OS and connect your webcam. Check if
the device is properly recognize by the driver. You
can also test it with any other application the uses
the webcam. I suggest you try "motion" since it is
quite easy to compile with the arm crosstool.
