You may have misunderstood the discussion. The EP93xx watchdog was the one
that was broken. We implemented the secondary watchdog on the CPLD for
precisely that reason. (Technologic Systems actually found out about the
issue with the chip before it was formally announced by Cirrus Logic) There
are actually two watchdogs available on the TS-7200: one on the CPLD and one
on the CPU with the one on the CPU being somewhat questionable as to
reliability. Recent posts seem to imply that Cirrus Logic may have fixed
the issue in their latest silicon revs though so now both watchdogs may be
useable.
