perhaps a problem with the usb 2.0 driver on the ps3 ?
i think you use the usb-ohci driver ?

In the end I disabled ehci and used ohci and it worked. Do you think
it is a problem in the ps3 ehci driver or in the way pwc interacts
with a ehci driver?
