who would have thought, that this could be so simple? removing this line
solved my problem here (it was on line 1213, i have version:
pwc-10.0.12-rc1)

i wonder, what's the reason this line is there at all? is there any good
reason, since it causes so much trouble and makes the cam pretty
unusuable for many purposes?

to the dev of this driver:
in order to make use of all features, that pwc provides, there shouldn't
be initial settings, that override settings made with setpwc (or
whatever program), since in fact an initialization of a parameter means
the same as disabling the parameter, which is kind of odd in my opinion.

matju, thanks a lot for your help and patience.
