Hello!

I have dowloaded and compiled the svn module, but my webcam still
gives the same grey/black (wengophone/kopete) preview as before.

I get this with lsusb
046d:08b1 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Notebook Pro

If I am not wrong then this driver should support it, and not the uvc driver.

this is a connect-preview-disconnect-removeModule cycle from dmesg
