I have the same problem with 2.6.12.5, and have tried various things to
get it going, with no success.

Using v4l-info, I get the following:

I'm far from being expert with all this, and do not know the
significance of the values, though it is clear that the camera is
recognized correctly.  However, the "invalid argument" for
VIDIOCGTUNER may mean something.

As an aside, I note that the sound has never worked, even with other
kernels when the video was working.
