Unfortunately if I disable EHCI I loose usb 2.0
functionality and I am using a USB harddisk.

However, I found something for an audio device.

I quote:

ALSA has a quite good support for USB audio devices,
the
 only problem could be when you mix USB 1.1 audio
 devices with USB 2.0 hubs.

 The CONFIG_USB_EHCI_SPLIT_ISO option in the kernel
 must be enabled to cope with that.

This triggered me to try this option as well.
The good news is that I managed to take pictures.
The bad news is that I can only use resolutions that
are not compressed.
For all compressed images I get this:

Jan  1 00:05:00 (none) user.debug kernel: pwc
decode_size = 2. Jan  1 00:05:00 (none) user.debug
kernel: pwc set_video_mode(640x480 @ 10, palette 15).
Jan  1 00:05:00 (none) user.debug kernel: pwc
decode_size = 5. Jan  1 00:05:01 (none) user.debug
kernel: pwc Frame buffer underflow (230 bytes);
discarded. Jan  1 00:05:01 (none) user.debug kernel:
pwc Frame buffer underflow (1156 bytes); discarded.

(nevermind the clock, it was not set due to another
issue)

So uncompressed images work, compressed works.
I feel this is related to USB and not PWC, but I
wanted to mentionn it anyway, as some of you might
have suggestions, and at least someone else might
benefit from this knowledge.

Tips, suggestions etc are of course welcome.
I'll dig further in this tomorrow.

Frans.
