Patrik, You're right - I believe the Quickcam 4000 is a type 740. Do you know why that code is only available to type 730 cameras? I would really like to gain access to the button on my camera. As i'm no programmer myself, I'd be willing to contribute by offering a small bounty ($40/€30/£20 payable by Paypal?) to somebody who could implement this code. An implementation similar to that on the driver for ov511 cameras would be ideal - ie. the value of /proc/video/ov511/<minor#>/button changes from 0 to 1 when the button is pressed, and reverts to 0 when the file has been read.
