hello
I have a debian stable under kernel 2.4.27
I though the piece of code would help, so I installed the patch
http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/patches/linux-2.4.27_pwc-10.0.4.patch.bz2

After that, I can run the LogitechQuickcam pro 4000 but only at
resolution qsif ( 160x120 ).

Is there a way to have it to work at vga size, with kernel 2.4.27 ?

I tried the modprobe pwc size=vga and other things ...

The situation concerning Philips device is now totally unclear,
I though I could run it without pwcx, but in fact in the kern.log I read :

Jul 1 16:27:27 COPIX kernel: pwc Logitech QuickCam 4000 Pro USB webcam
                detected.

Jul 1 16:27:27 COPIX kernel: pwc Registered as /dev/video0.

Jul 1 16:32:05 COPIX kernel: pwc This Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 camera
is equipped with a Sony CCD sensor + Exas 98L59 (46).

Jul 1 16:32:05 COPIX kernel: pwc Video mode fps is only supported
                with the decompressor module (pwcx).

===========================================================================

Also, could it be possible to update the following, may be with a note
telling IT DEFINITELY CANNOT WORK on kernel 2.4.xx

from http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/ (Last updated: Jun 13, 2005), I
read :
"The driver is designed for Linux 2.6, patches for 2.4 is not tested. I'll
try to produce update for the 2.4 kernel."

from the Luc Saillard message :
http://lists.saillard.org/pipermail/pwc/2005-May/000314.html
I understand that there is no way to have it to run with my kernel 2.4.xx

Thank you !
