Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that up here in Oregon we are trying som=
ething a little different to raise awareness and engage the community in en=
vironmental advocacy. A group of field recordists, myself, the Oregon Museu=
m of Science and Industry and KBOO Community Radio are partnering to create=
a series of live and broadcast events that sit at the intersection of scie=
nce, art, health, and technology. Basically we are creating and installing =
Message: 5.
Subject: 1 discrete mixes of field recordings and having the planetarium match
the=
geo-location and time metadata from the recordings. Think of it as a theat=
er without walls where the only actors are the earth, the sky and the audie=
nce. We're hoping to have a Q&A after so that people can discuss field reco=
rding and the co-occurring issues of noise and light pollution with the sci=
entists and artists involved. If you'd like more info, the promo video can =
be found here...https://vimeo.com/285427165 https://vimeo.com/285427165

If you're in the Oregon area and want to come, our first installment featu=
ring ultrasonic and vibrational field recordings of bats and katydids in Pa=
nama dropped into our hearing threshold, it is Aug 29. More info here: http=

nian-rain-forest-omsi https://www.kboo.fm/media/67084-insectuality-love-son=

There will be a second radio show Sept 29 going in depth about those resea=
rchers featuring more stereo mixes of the recordings.

The big event will be Oct 9. We'll be going to four different locations (U=
S and abroad) with more artistic soundscape pieces from the broadcasting ar=
chives weaving them together. The radio archive tie in for this collective =
is up already at https://www.kboo.fm/media/66122-different-nature https://w=

 Thank you for your time!
