hi Melissa,

I=92m using an M/S setup at the moment, with a SD 744 recorder, and I obser=
ve in quiet surroundings (like some recent recordings in the Gran Chaco in =
Argentina) that the low frequency content is quite intense by comparison to=
my naked-ear perception. I record with varying degrees of high-pass accord=
ing to the scenario to compensate - generally the quieter everything is, th=
e more this becomes necessary. So I guess commenting that M/S can be really=
nice (I use an MKH 50/30 combo but a 40/30 combo would give better imaging=
) but it=92s not a route away from the heavy low frequency content - which =
I feel is part of the nature of the technogy we use vs. the internal mixing=
that goes on with to-the-naked-ear perception.

cheers!

Duncan
