Thank you for your excellent video and recordings.
I first started my soundscape recordings in 1965 with a Philips Casette
recorder and I still keep some of my old things.
I really started recording after 2007 when I bought the Nagra Ares BB+.
I admire your skillful explanations and your respect for your work.
Best regards,

Thank you, Arnthor!
It is hard to give up some of our old things
I still have an old Phillips machine that i use to demonstrate with.
Sadly my trusted Nagra was smashed in a rage by my ex wife.

Hello all,
One of the beautiful bird songs that you can find in Colombia.
Sharpe's Wren can sing very nice and unpredictable variety of melodic phrases.
Enjoy.

3a. Live broadcast ?
Posted by: "Dom Hall" dominic.patagonia
Date: Wed May 3, 2017 3:12 pm ((PDT))
Hi Folks,I was wondering if anyone could help me troubleshoot why I cannot seem
to broadcast - I'm trying to get a soundscape audio feed set- up for
International Dawn Chorus Day this weekend, as part of http://soundtent.org/
Anyway, my set-up is as follows: Pair of Em172s into my Olympus LS100
recocorder into my iPHone which will broadcast using LocusCast app.
The EM172s are going into the XLR ports and the audio-out is running from the
headphone jack on the LS100 into the iPHone's headhpone jack with a TRS - TRRS
cable from Rode.
Yet there is no sound....
Am I doing something wrong? I've never this live broadcasting before. The TRRS
cable should mean that the Phone automatically recognises it as an audio-in
signal, no?
Many thanks in advance!
CheersDom

My understanding is that a TRRS cable can give you a mono mic input, and output
two channels to drive headphones. There is no analog stereo input on any iPhone.
To get stereo into an iPhone it is necessary to use an accessory that includes
stereo D-to-A converters, and connects to the charging port of the iPhone.
30-pin or Lightening, depending on the age of the phone.
Like this:
http://line6.com/sonicport-audio-interface/sonicport/
That has a stereo line input on a 3.5mm jack.
Experiment a lot to be sure you get the levels right. I have never used this
device so I only recommend it on its promised capability.
