My limited experience of pelagic is that most of the birds don=E2=80=99t ca=
ll.  I have heard gulls and terns calling which they seem to do regardless =
of where they are but stuff like auks or shearwaters never seem to call.  I=
 will ask the question of some seabird surveyors who spends months at sea y=
ear if they hear anything calling.
