 San Francisco State University Field Campus, Yuba Pass, CA. =0D

 The workshop will be held at the Sierra Nevada Field Campus of San Francis=
co State University alongside the scenic north fork of the Yuba River. Part=
icipants will learn field recording techniques hands-on in the field. =0D
  =0D
 The event will offer informative lectures and field trips by experienced s=
ound recordists with the opportunity to use a =0D
 variety of equipment. Meals and platform tent lodging included.=0D
  =0D
 Featured speakers are: =0D
  =0D
 Flawn Williams, a veteran sound recordist who has spent three decades with=
 National Public Radio. Among other topics, he will give a retrospective of=
 the joint NPR-National Geographic Radio Expeditions series, notes on a mor=
e recent project in Big Bend National Park, and technical tips for mounting=
 mics.  =0D

 Kevin Sweeney is Supervising Ranger at Lassen Volcanic National Park. He w=
ill talk about the role of designated wilderness in preserving natural soun=
dscapes and how the NPS is interpreting the value of natural soundscapes to=
 its visitors.=0D

 John Hartog is a natural soundscape recordist from Portland, Oregon. His t=
heme will be =93Listening Between the Noise, a Search for Quiet Moments in =
Oregon.=94 Hartog will describe his recording methods and adventures.=0D
