David,
I use Sennheiser HD25-1 II closed back headphones.  They are very durable a=
nd sound great for many applications.  I use them with a Marantz PMD661 MKI=
I recorder in the field, as well as for monitoring recording while mixing. =
 I chose them over the Sony MDR-7505 phones, which are also very highly rec=
ommended, and about half the price.
