Late response. I use my camera tripod since it is much better made than the=
microphone stands I have found. The only thing you might need is an arm fo=
r stereo separation and some adapters for the screw pitch. I have Feisol br=
and which costs half of some competing firms but still high grade carbon fi=
bre. Not exactly cheap though. =0D

I agree with David about keeping mics low to the ground where possible. Hel=
ps with wind noise most of all. =0D

For wind protection I use inexpensive third party hairy wind socks, since a=
full-blown (ahem!) Zeppelin is too bulky for my use cases. This keeps the =
overall weight very reasonable.=0D
