It only "worked for a while" (the second time) because I wanted to take the M10
out to do some recording in the nearby woods. I didn't feel I could trust it,
so I wanted to put a normal 32gig card in.
I haven't tried using the SDXC 64gig card in the M10 since then. I think I
found out what I needed to know. That card is now back inside an Olympus LS100
where it's still good and doesn't seem to be damaged by my tinkering.
As a little extra info for anyone with a Roland R05, I also tried it in that.
The R05 wouldn't play at all, not even with a pre formatted 64gig fat32 partion.
There has never been a firmware update for Sony M10, and I even suspect there
is no way to write new firmware into it.
