Hi Elton,
I have wondered the same thing. If you can afford professionally made blimp=
s, then maybe each mic done separately might be better. If you prefer a DIY=
 solution, then covering the whole thing might be better.
Also, the wider the mic spacing, the more cumbersome an all-covering design=
 may become.
