It's worth bearing in mind that quality matters. I originally wired up my SASS using a cable I had lying around, and later found it was letting interference from the recorder's LCD into the recording. This cable probably came with a cheap set of PC speakers and was poorly shielded. I would hope most of the cables from somewhere like B&H would be better than this, but they might have a cheap range that should be avoided.
