I think the opposite is true. When the gear limited the frequency response =
to audible frequencies below 20 kHz, then it is impossible that ultrasonic =
signal components above 20 kHz interact with each other due to the nonlinea=
rities of the amplifiers at those frequencies above 20 kHz (as a result of =
a limited slew rate for instance). Otherwise, there would be a higher risk =
that intermodulation distortion occurs in the audible range below 20 kHz.
