Right, the theoretic A-weighted EIN of a dynamic microphone with an impedan=
ce of 200 ohms is only -135 dBu (see http://www.rane.com/note148.html) and =
the sensitivity of the MD21 is only 1.8 mV/Pa.

This means that the resulting system noise is determined more or less exclu=
sively by the EIN of the preamp, which is completely different from the oth=
er condenser or electret microphones that we commonly use.

In a common condenser microphone with its much higher output level (let's s=
ay 25 mV/Pa), the EIN of the preamp has usually only a comparatively small =
or sometimes even no influence at all.
