Heads up, class...
A few weeks ago I asked a question here about SoundCloud's HTML5 players no=
t showing up in the latest version of Firefox. I had found a post on SoundC=
loud's blog acknowledging the issue, but the workaround they suggested was =
useless. With no good solution in view, I temporarily removed my SoundCloud=
players and reverted back to "old school" linking to MP3 files on my own s=
erver, which is rock-solid reliable all the time.
This morning I learned that the problem seems to be related to a bug in the=
Ghostery privacy plugin blocking certain key elements in iframes.
So if you have SoundCloud HTML5 players imbedded into another website, it m=
ight be a good idea to add a note advising your visitors that if they canno=
t see the SoundCloud players, to make sure their Ghostery plugin is up-to-d=
ate, and to select "whitelist domain" within Ghostery for the domain Soundc=
loud.com.
