Hello nature recordists,

Just a short message to briefly introduce myself to the list. I am an absol=
ute beginner in ambient recordings; made my first recordings with a H2 zoom=
in Costa Rican rain forest last year. They sound spectacular, I think, but=
I am wondering how to improve things in terms of recording quality, and ho=
pe to learn from experienced recordists here. I have a background in bioaco=
ustiscs, but not in any field recording of soundscapes for listening purpos=
es.

I was interested in the Community FAQ, which turns out to have a wealth of =
information. Many thanks! It seems though that the link provided on the Yah=
oo Groups page now requires a Google login. Rob was so kind to send me an u=
pdated link that provides direct read access. For those interested, the ful=
l link is:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yQ8CF32I310b8FO4GbAZaxk0JjwfzEpSE-rhwZf=
qVY4/edit?authkey=3DCLPDwPEP

but TinyURL simplifies matters:

All the best,
Gabriel Beckers
