Interesting to read this. The caterpillars of the Common Mormon butterly
bend their backs releasing foul-smelling chemicals. In an environment where
man-made sounds are overwhelmingly loud those caterpillars which use
evasive tactics other that sound are more likely to survive than those that
rely solely on sounds.
