I tried your test and got exactly the same outcome as you, i.e. when
the first 2gb file was saved, but the remaining time exploded to 751
hours.
I think this issue happened to me on a battery test made earlier: I
found three 2gb files were created, but the 4th/last file (that filled
up the card) was unusable. The recorder appeared to just keep writing
into that file until the battery ran out. One would think it think it
would stop recording when the card filled, or perhaps continued
recording on internal/external memory as required.
