Over the weekend, I was trying to record some spring peepers, and general a=
mbient night recordings, and was trying out a new Olympus LS-7 using just t=
he built in mics. =A0One thing I noticed both nights I tried it was that du=
ring the overnight hours(I left it recording from roughly 8pm to 10am), the=
re was a definite light, occasional static in the recording. =A0It was "jus=
t enough to be annoying), and is NOT apparent later in the recording, rough=
ly from dawn, onward. =A0This static is present both nights, and the record=
er was in different locations. =A0Also, it is NOT present in some recording=
s I made using external mics...just using the built in mics. =A0 =A0Does an=
yone have any experience with Olympus products, to know if they are perhaps=
unusually=A0susceptible=A0to static from =A0humidity or something? =A0 I c=
an't really think of anything else(other then temperature), that could have=
affected the recorder, but there is=A0definitely=A0something going on. =A0=
I had
a zoom H4N out at the same locations, and had none of the issues, and real=
ly don't think it was EM effect as again, it's only on the internal mics, a=
nd=A0definitely=A0seems to "clean up" later in both recordings. =A0 I know =
this is a pretty open ended question...but anyone =A0have any ideas?
