Atlantic rainforest biophony comparison question

Subject: Atlantic rainforest biophony comparison question

Pablo,

It would be interesting to compare the density and diversity shifts
(if any) between the recordings you've made in Mata Atlantica and
those that we did 22 years ago. If you have good meta data (GPS
location, times of recordings, weather conditions, mic systems, etc)
that information would be helpful for a comparison. When we were
there, the Atlantic rainforest was already undergoing a period of
incredible transition, having been nearly logged to extinction (its
southern edge used to reach as far south as Rio). With swift changes
in climate due to global warming trends, and shifts in South American
weather patterns, all of this would have an affect on the biophony.

Our calibrated recordings, done in January, 1990 -- our second year
recording in the tropics with MS mic systems (having transitioned from
XY and binaural) -- are fairly robust and it would be nice to see how
things have changed and what the characteristics of those changes
might be.

If you could provide a 3 minute dawn chorus WAV file from a known
location with all of the metadata, perhaps we could begin there with
some comparisons.

Ciao,
Bernie
