Hi John.
I used Camtasia 2 for Mac. I'm sure there are free alternatives out there
that work in a similar way. If you're just gonna make these kind of screen
recordings, it's probably "overkill", but it's easy to use.
I did it like this:
First I choose the size (720) and then fitted the size of my audio
application (RX) so I only got what I wanted inside the box, and then
pressed Record (3 second count down).
I actually failed in getting the sound recorded (didn't have time at the
moment to make the settings right) , so what I did was in camtasia edit
window that shows up after the recording is finished, was that I right
clicked the clip and choose "separate audio and video and then right clicke=
d
the sound clip and deleted it. (this is a important feature, that you can
change the soundclip after the screeen recording)
I then dragged and dropped the sound file i had used during screen recordin=
g
into camtasia.
I trimmed the start and end and then i choose to color adjust the video cli=
p
(edit/add video fx/color adjust) and dragged saturation to 0 and also made
some change to contrast/brightness.
Now I exported it by going to Share/advanced export and chose quicktime
(.mov file) and then changed the audio quality from aac 128 to aac 256 and
then I was done.
The file can be exported directly to youtube or similar if you have an
account.
Sorry for the long reply=8A :)
