Don't get me wrong, I do that too. I have shared many of my own recordings =
with blatant anthropogenic content on this very group. Some of them I might=
categorize as nature recordings while others I definitely would not. But w=
hy were they all considered on-topic, or at least welcome on this forum? Wh=
y did no one complain? - not because they were nature recordings in content=
. Rather, no one complained because I took some time to textually frame my =
recordings in a way that did not leave listeners to be offensively surprise=
d.
For this same reason, I would try to extend a polite warning before sharing=
any potentially offensive recording, for instance the sounds one creature =
being slaughtered by another, even though it be very on-topic and natural i=
n content.
There are many of us in this listener audience who find it disconcerting wh=
en we are surprised by anthropogenic content in a nature recording shared o=
n this forum. If you do not realize this, you are being insensitive to your=
audience. If you do realize this but are inclined to offend your audience =
anyway, then you are not being very nice.
