If even you are getting inconsistent results then I wonder if the problem i=
s to do with how the web server is handling the files. There may be nothing=
wrong with the files at all.

I agree that I shouldn't need to=85 but what's worse, now it seems to
break for me sometimes.
The larks recording is about 1m11s long. Sometimes the flash player
plays it to the end, and sometimes it plays only 12 (or 19, or 22,
or 9) seconds of audio, then says "error!" and stops or loops back
to the beginning. I don't have a clue if it's the mp3's fault, or
the flash player's, or my web server's, or my browser's.
How very annoying.

No, I re-exported it from Audacity without specifying any ID3 tag data.
But no other changes.

mp3 file. What happens if you try that?
